Steve B. Hoffpauir, 40, of Lake Charles died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, in a Lafayette hospital. Steve was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. He was a graduate of LaGrange Senior High School. Steve attended NcNeese State University and was a member of Kappa Sigma. He was owner and operator of Steve Seafood. Steve was a former member of Carpenter's Local No. 953. He was an avid hunter and loved fishing, in 1997, Steve and Butch Covington won the Top Six Bass Master Championship. Steve is survived by his parents, Larry and Gloria Hoffpauir of Moss Bluff, two brothers, Jason Hoffpauir and wife, Pam, and Wendell Hoffpauir and wife, Pamela, all of Lake Charles, one sister, Cyndi H. Miller and fiance', Karl Hoffpauir, both of Lake Charles, five nieces, Adrienne Hebert, Jennifer McGee, Erica Royalty, Ashley Hoffpauir and Lauren Hoffpauir, and one nephew, Brad Miller. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Wednesday in Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Danny Torres will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 4-10 p.m. today, with rosary at 6 p.m., and from 8 a.m. Wednesday. The family would like to send a special thanks to Scott Covington and the teams of doctors and nurses of South Cameron Memorial Hospital, Lake Charles Memorial Hospital and Lafayette General Hospital for their assistance to the Hoffpauir family.
