Crowley resident celebrates 100 years.... Forest Park Church of Christ Hall provided the setting for a birthday celebration honoring centenarian Nedia Coleman. Nearly 125 guests in attendance of the celebratory event were served finger foods punch and a birthday cake which was a white sheet confection adorned with fuchsia roses. Special guests in attendance were Coleman's brother, Wallace LeBlanc and his wife, Hazel. Out of town guests traveled from Little Rock, Arkansas, Destin, Florida, Ruston and Baton Rouge to attend.
Mrs. Coleman was born to Mr. and Mrs. Simonette LeBlanc on March 25, 1910 in Roberts Cove. She was married to the late Samuel Hoffpauir and the late Louis Coleman. The honoree has three daughters, Ruby Spell of Indian Bayou; Bertha Coleman of Roberts Cove and Betty Stuckey of Crowley; six grandchildren, Debbie Bealer, Kim McFarland, Donna Haughee, David Stuckey, Brenda Bourque and Jerry Coleman; 10 great-grandchildren, Brandon Bourque, Bridgette Prudhomme, Brooklyn Woods, Stephanie Maynie, Christopher Manghee, Ashley Bealer, Samuel, Sophia and Sarah Stuckey and Andy McFarland and 11 great-grandchildren, Emily Bourque, Anna and Grace Bourque, Lori Cole, Jesse and Connor Vacarro, Vegas, Phoenix, Billie Jo and Journey Woods and Ethan Haughee.

Obituary: Services will be held Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Forest Park Church of Christ at 11:00 a.m. for Nedia Coleman who passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 3:55 p.m. at Acadia General Hospital in Crowley. Nedia Coleman, born March 25, 1910 in Robert’s Cove, Louisiana, went home to meet the Lord, April 8, 2015 at the age of 105 years. She was a lifelong member of Forest Park church of Christ and a resident of Crowley, Louisiana for the past 80 years. The Family has requested the visitation to be held on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Then visitation will resume on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services all at Forest Park Church of Christ. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley. She is survived by her daughters, Ruby Spell of Indian Bayou, Louisiana, Bertha Coleman of Robert’s Cove, Louisiana, and Betty Stuckey of Crowley, Louisiana; six grandchildren; Deborah Bealer and her husband, Douglas of Indian Bayou, La, Kim McFarland and her husband, Danny of Duncan, OK, Brenda Bourque and her husband, Brian of Lafayette, La, Jerry Coleman of Lafayette, La, Donna Haughee and her husband, Jeff of Benton, AR, and David Stuckey and his wife, Tonia of Indian Bayou, La; ten great-grandchildren; Ashley Bealer, Andy McFarland, Brandon Bourque and his wife, Carrie, Bridgette Prudhomme and her husband, Mike, Brooklyn Woods and her husband, Skip, Stephanie Haynie and her husband, Kevin, Christopher Haughee, Samuel Stuckey, Sophia Stuckey and Sarah Stuckey; 14 great-great-grandchildren; Emily, Anna and Grace Bourque, Alexis Cole, Jesse, Connor and Alice Nedia Prudhomme, Vegas, Phoenix, Billi-Jo, Journey and Bravery Woods, Ethan Haughee and Silas Stuckey. Ms. Nedia was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Samuel Hoffpauir, Jr. and her second husband, Louis Coleman, her sons-in-law, Frank Spell, Jr., Lee Roy Coleman and Donald Stuckey; her parents Simonette and Agatha Simon LeBlanc, her sister, Mella Simon, and two brothers, Wallace LeBlanc and Willis LeBlanc.
