Obituary
Obituary: Funeral services for V.A. "Black" Cormier, 92, were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, in Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Revs. Burton Ashworth and Ross Geinger officiated. Burial was in Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery. Mr. Cormier died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, in Sulphur. He was a native of Lyons Point and had lived in Sulphur for 47 years. He worked for the city of Sulphur for seven years, and he was a school crossing guard for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office. He was a farmer for 45 years. Survivors include his wife, Madge Hoffpauir Cormier of Sulphur; four sons, Huiet Cormier of Sulphur, Bobby Cormier of Carlyss, Matthew Cormier of Sea Drift, Texas, and Herbert Cormier of Port Lavaca, Texas; three daughters, Wilma Fontenot of Welsh, Peggy Moore of DeQuincy and Brandi Cormier of Sulphur; one sister, Willa Mae Broussard of Gueydan; 19 grandchildren; 39 great_grandchildren; and two great_great_grandchildren.Endnotes
