Burial

Obituary: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2015 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Barbara Ann Hoffpauir Mayer, 67, who died December 22, 2015 at Shelby Hospital in Alabaster, AL. Fr. Matthew Higginbotham, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Sunday.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Emile Richard Mayer, Sr. of Alabaster, AL; one daughter, Kristi Mayer Mitchum and her husband, Lee of Ewa Beach, HI; two sons, Emile Richard Mayer, Jr. of Birmingham, AL; and Beau Kevin Mayer of Birmingham, AL; one sister, Judy Hoffpauir Hebert of Lafayette, LA; one brother, Murrell Abel Hoffpauir, Jr. and his wife, June of Church Point, LA; and four grandchildren, Emily Mitchum, Erik Mitchum, Josephine Mayer, and Evangeline Mayer. Mrs. Mayer is preceded in death by her parents, Murrell and Lucille Schexnaider Hoffpauir, Sr.; and one sister, Murrelline Hoffpauir. Pallbearers will be Cody Hoffpauir, Quentin Hoffpauir, Kurt Hoffpauir, Lee Mitchum, Rick Mayer, and Terry Hebert. Honorary pallbearers will be Erik Mitchum, and James Hebert.
