Robert Lee May was the only child born to Robert May and Lucille Hoffpauir. After their divorce she married Lere Robert FORMAN. Lucille was not a registered birth, when she signed up for social security, family members went back to Indian Bayou LA and found 3 relatives who remembered her birth to sign documents to the fact. She was born 9/4/1909 and died 1/1984 Hardin Co TX under Lucille Foreman.
Lucille moved to Texas and Robert Lee May lost track of his father for many many years. This is information that I have been able to collect from my husbands mother. Isaac Hoffpauir and Laura Tarver born 12/27/1885 LA died 3/15/1972 Orange Co TX "she was the daughter of John Tarver" were the parents of Lucille HOFFPAUIR MAY FOREMAN. Laura is buried in Mary Williams Cem in Orange Co TX next to her son Berdie Hoffpauir. Siblings of Lucille - Anna Belle Hoffpauir 10/30/1905 Rayne LA m Leland Joseph Mitchell both are buried in Big Woods Cem Calcasieu Parish LA, Bertied Hoffpauir m Ruby TX, Sidney Hoffpauir 8/19/1911 - 5/1979 m Roxie Henry TX, John Hoffpauir 10/10/1912 - 7/19/1993 New Iberia LA m Dorothy Lee Turner , Woodrow Wilson Hoffpauir 8/3/1919 - 4/9/1994 Fredericksburg TX m Dorothy Youngman TX and Nelson Hoffpauir born 1820 Rayne LA.
