RAYWOOD - Herbert C. O'Quinn, Sr., 84, of Raywood died Friday at Kersting Memorial Hospital.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Allison Funeral Home in Liberty with burial in Guedry Cemetery in Batson.
A native of Devers and a lifelong resident of Raywood, he was a retired oilfield driller.
Survivors include his wife, Helen L. O'Quinn of Raywood; three sons, Charles Lee O'Quinn of Raywood, Doyle Gene O'Quinn of Lumberton, and Herbert C. O'Quinn, Jr. of Kemah; a daughter, Barbara Ann Cato of Ruston, La.; a brother, Elmer O'Quinn of Woodville; a sister, Mattie Laird of Saratoga; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
"My remembrances of Uncle Herbert is that he resided in High Island, TX, and Daisetta, TX and other Southeast Texas locations while following the oilfields. He lived in Raywood longer than any place else. I remember him as the only one of the five O'Quinn brothers that was not balding. When he died he still had a full head of white hair." Gene O'Quinn
