Obituary: MATTIE S. DuBOSE (April 2, 1933 - May 1, 2010) Funeral Services will be Monday, May 3, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Indian Bayou Methodist Church in Indian Bayou for Mattie S. DuBose, 77 who passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 12:04 am at the Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia. Survivors include her husband of fifty five years, Derwin (Billy) DuBose of New Iberia, one son, John Howell and wife, Veronica DuBose of Lafayette; one daughter, Karen Throop of Spanish Fort, AL.; two grandchildren, Victoria and Zachary Throop of Spanish Fort, AL.; two sisters, Marjorie Bertrand and Karen Fluitt both of Crowley, ; one brother, Jack and wife Pearl Sarver of Lafayette; one half brother, Denny Lane Sarver of Crowley. Mrs. Mattie is preceded in death by a grand-daughter, Kristi Throop; and one son-in-law, Glenn Throop; her parents, Gordy and Lois Sarver; two aunts, Agnes Sarver and Louella Hoffpauir. Visitation will be Sunday, May 2, 2010 at 3:00 pm till 9:00 pm then Monday 8:00 am till time of Services. Burial will be in the Indian Bayou Methodist Church Cemetery in Indian Bayou.
