Death
Obituary: Martha Jo Hoffpauir, known to many as "Momma Jo", passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at the age of 66 at the Winnie Community Hospital. A native of Cusseta, AL. and a resident of Winnie, TX. for forty-three years, Jo was a retired dispatcher for the Chambers County Sheriff's Department. She also worked for several years for the Gulf Coast News and The Hometown Press. Jo served the community for many years as a volunteer with the Winnie-Stowell Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Medical Service. She was a founding member of the Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Jo was a devoted member of the Hankamer Community Fellowship Church. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2007 in Broussard's Chapel, 134 W. Buccaneer Dr., in Winnie with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Jo is preceded in death by her husband, David Hoffpauir, daughter, Kimberley Sizemore, grandchildren, Christina Credeur and Lindsey LeBlanc and parents, Mark Clark and Edith Williams. She is survived by her sister, Caroline McKemie and Ken of Valley, AL.; brother, Mark Clark, Jr. and Gayle of Cussetta, AL.; daughters, Sheri Phelps and Bubba of Hankamer, Angie Gandy and Terry of Hazelhurst, MS., Lisa Bertrand of Winnie, Mellanie Credeur and Scott Pearce of Winnie; son-in-law, Jack Sizemore, Jr. of Double Bayou; step-daughter, Georgia Duran of Rome, GA.; step-sons, Robert Hoffpauir and Vicki, J. D. Hoffpauir, and Mike Hoffpauir all of Winnie; grandchildren, Ben Phelps, Samantha Sizemore, Kelsey LeBlanc, Sophie Sizemore, Sarah Phelps, Mattie Gandy, Caleb Bertrand, Bo Jacob Sizemore, Brian Hoffpauir, Tina Workman, Katrina Wright, Billy Bob Hoffpauir, James Hoffpauir, Jr., Luke Gandy, Josh Gandy, Micah Gandy, Ghris Lauve and Britney Peters and eight great-grandchildren.Endnotes
