Individual Details
George Faulk
(Abt 1772 - )
George (Fark) Faulk is recorded on the marriage certificate of his daughter as being from Georgia, and on the marriage certificate of his son as being from North Carolina.
In the booklet "Faulk Family Tree" written by Clayborne W. Faulk, Sr. in 1981, he states that the Faulks came to Louisiana from Wilmington, North Carolina, and before that from ".... a province on the River Rhine, lying between Germany and France". It further states that three brothers left their homeland to escape the persecution against the Huguenots and arrived in Wilmington, North Carolina in 1671. Their names were Wright, James, and Melzer Faulk. Also in the same publication, it states that George Faulk came to Louisiana in 1812, settled near Abbeville, and raised a large family.
George is listed as 88 years old in the 1850 census, which would have him born in 1772.
