Letter, dated 2 Aug 1921 with his service papers reads:"To The Secretary, Military Department, India Office, Whitehall, S.W.1. - With reference to your M.U.13226/1 dated 28th July 1921, I have to inform you that the late No L/8505 Private Vincent D Richardson, 2nd Battalion, The Buffs Regiment, was killed in Action 3.5.1915, whilst serving with the B.E.F., France, please."
