extract from Monthly Meeting of Frenchey, Hornbury (Births) - On the Thirtyeth day of the Seventh month called July One thousand seven hundred and Ninety one was born at Elberton in the parish of Elberton county of Glocester (sic) unto Joseph Sturge and Mary his wife, a son who was named Thomas Marshall. We, who were present at the said birth, have subscribed our names as witnesses thereof Mary Mayor & Fanny Sturge.A true copy John Gayner Register to Frenchey Monthly meeting.
N.B. 19th of ? 1792 paid the duty for two years 5 72 to 2 of the ? 1791 paid to R Henley for Wm Pitt.

Extract from Quaker records:On the twenty second day of the fifth month one thousand eight hundred and fifteen Thomas Marshall Sturge of Olveston in the county of Gloucestershire Woodstaplend? son of Joseph Sturge of Olveston in the county of Gloucestershire, Yeoman, and Mary his wife, and Hannah Enoch daughter of John Enoch of Warwick in the county of Warwickshire, ?? and Elizabeth his wife, took each other in marriage in a public assembly of the people called Quakers, in Warwick. In the presence of us: Joseph Bowfell, Corn Dealer, Warwick; Daniel Evans, Yeoman of Good rest Lodge near Warwick; William Whitehead of Warwick, Mealman? The marriage was solemnized between us Bride & Groom signed their names.

Effects under £4,000.
