Drury states that he was oiling the regulator rod of engine 534, when he accidentally touched the catch of reversing lever, which flew out of the rack and knocked him against the bunker of engine. The Secretary stated that since receiving Drury's claim, repeated application had been made fro a medical certificate in confirmation of the alleged accident; but up to the date of the meeting, this had not been received. Mr Ostler proposed Mr Pritchard (Plymouth) seconded - "That the case be deferred until the autumn meeting, in order to give Drury an opportunity of complying with the requirements of Rule X11 (c)." Amendment by Mr Whitlock, seconded by Mr Whittle - "That in the event of Drury producing before the autumn meeting, the medical evidence as required by Rule XII (c) he be granted his assurance & superannuation" As only Mr Whitlock (proposer) & Mr Whittle (seconder) voted for the amendment, it was declared lost and the proposition on being put to the meeting was carried.
