CHADWELL FROM CHADWELL AGREEMENT
Know all men by these presents that we, George Chadwell and Gemimah, his wife, of Pittsylvania County, Virginia, being infirm of body and not able to act in business to the common support of life, do covenant and agree to and with our son John Chadwell of said county, for diverse good causes, and consideration, do make this our firm deed of conveyance of all our right of that tract or parcel of landwhereon we now live, and one negro man named Squire with all our stock of horses, cattle, and hogs and household furniture, and all our other estate,real and personal, and hereby empower him, the said John Chadwell, to transactall our business whatsoever, for and in consideration that the said JohnChadwell is to find us the said George Chadwell and Gemimah, his wife,sufficient clothing, lodging, and diatt and all other necessaries suitable forour support during our natural lives for which consideration we do give, grant,deed, convey and confirm and deliver this our estate, real and personal, to himthe said John Chadwell, his heirs forever and we do warrant and defend the saidestate to the said John Chadwell against the claim or demand of any person or persons whatsoever. In witness where of we have hereunto set our hands and affixt our seals this 27th day of November in the year of our lord, one thousand seven hundred and seventy six (1776).
