History of Woodstock, CT., V.2, p.628 "He sailed from London in May 1677 in the ship, "Kent", and came to Salem in western New Jersey in Sept. 1678. There in 1691 he built the brick house still standing, once the residence of the governor of the State, and now known as the Governor House".
