George BRUCE

(11 Mar 1816 - 15 Nov 1892)

We have confirmation that George is the son of Joshua and Margaret and where he went to and the names of his children. A letter from a Sandra Glantz (Morrow), who is the great granddaughter of Margaret Ann Bruce (Morrow), who is the daughter of George, son of Joshua. George and Harriet went to Iowa in 1844, and were living in Davis county in 1850 according to that census. According to the letter, George was still alive in 1885 in Appanoose county, but as yet do not know where or when he died. Wepresume he died in Iowa. We are guessing that Thomas and Samuel went also to Iowa since they also disappear from Indiana census, and their is a good chance that Margaret also went there after 1850. According to the 1850 Appanoose county, Iowa census, George says he is 35 which makes his birth year 1815. He also says he was born in Ohio as we suspected he was.
