Mary KENT

(1580 - 9 May 1613)

Mary Kent died in 1613 before the Mayflower sailed and before Stephen Hopkins married Elizabeth Fisher. But they had children. For example, Constance Hopkins who was Stephen Hopkins daughter and was born in 1606 (or 1608 according to her tombstone), came over on the Mayflower with her father Stephen Hopkins and her stepmother Elizabeth Fisher, and died in 1677 and was buried in Eastham, Mass. She married Nicholas Snow in 1627.
Constance Hopkins had a mother who Stephen Snow's wife before Elizabeth so it is clear that Stephen Hopkins was married in England before his marriage in 1813 to Elizabeth Fisher. Many people document this 1st wife as Mary Kent.
Mary died in Hursley, Hampshire, England and listed herself as a widow because she thought she was. At that time Stephen was shipwrecked in Bermuda having been on a ship headed for Jamestown. He later got home and ended up going over on the Mayflower. Here is her find a grave: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/34165491
