"Thomas Bedyll of Black Notley in the County of Essex, Yeoman, in his will, dated September 16, 1550 (and proved in the Commissary Court of the Bishop of London for parts of Essex), directs his body to be buried in Black Notley church, and mentions his wife Joan, his daughters Alice, Johan, and Margery, and his sons John the elder, Thomas, James, and John the younger.
