She was a midwife and often traveled by horseback to the top of the mountain to deliver babies. Records indicate that she delivered over 350 babies in the lower part of Lee County.

Mrs. Elizabeth Ayers Robinson, widow of Wilburn Robinson, who preceded herein death May 12 1891[death on grave stone May 12, 1896], died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dow Chadwell Ewing, VA., at noon Sunday, Nov. 2, 1941. She was 94 years; 1 month, and, 17 days of age.
She is survived by Ii children,—Mrs. Dow Chadwell; Mrs. John Bailey; Ben Robinson; Tom Robinson; R. L.Robinson; and James Robinson, all of Ewing, VA. Too, she is survived by 157 grand children, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. A. E. Robertson and Rev. S. Rowlette, were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dow Chadwell, at one o'clock Monday afternoon, after which the body was in;erred in the Brook's Cemetery, Ewing, VA.
Flower girls were Mrs. Bruce Barnes; Mrs. Joe W. Robinson; Mrs. Bryant Bailey; Mrs. Sewell Rowland;Mrs. John Barnes; Mrs. William Cowan; Misses Gladys, Betty, and Clara Ann Robinson; Colleen Brown; Iva Jean Rowland; Lizzie and Mossie B. Ayers; Elizabeth Chadwell; Opal Susong; and Beulah and Sallie Niday.
Pallbearers were J. R., Hubert, Joe S., Joe W., and Wilburn Robinson and Hubert Bailey, the pallbearers being 6 of the many grand sons.
