Chiristina was probably born in or near the village of Krefield, in the Dutchy of Cleves, which is in present day Germany. Her parents are unknown at this time. Around 1660, she became the wife of Jacob VanBibber, probably in Krefield. They were Menonites, a religious sect that was being persecuted in Europe at that time. William Penn invited some Menonites to settle in Pennsylvania around 1683. One of the men who were given 1000 acres of land to settle was her husband Jacob.
Jacob and Christina's sons Isaac and Matthias emigrated to Pennsylvania in 1684, the parents followed in 1687. They settled in the area which was to become known as Germantown, near Philadelphia. Around 1702, a religious dispute caused the VanBibber family to move to Cecil County, Maryland, and become affiliated with St. Stephen's Church there.
The records of St. Stephen's show that Jacob died in 1705 and was buried at the church. Christina died in September, 1711, and was also buried at the church. There is no monument at her grave, but there is a monument in the cemetery to all the burials that have no gravestone.
