Pierre David belonged to a family that had moved from Bolbec, Normandy, to London; he was a member of the group of French Huguenots that settled Manakintown, Virginia, although he probably did not arrive there until about 1712, he received a grant from the colony of Virginia for 88 acres on the south side of the James River. He was a vestryman of King William Parish in Henrico (now Powhatan) County, Virginia, from 1721 until his death. He made his will on May 28, 1729, leaving his property to his wife, Anne, and his four children. The estate was probated on August 18, 1730.
