Note1870According to an obituary in the Gilgandra Weekly 28 Jan 1926 Frederick & Mary Ann spent part of their early married life in Whitwarta, SA, where he was a prominent member of the Salvation Army. He ran for parliament, missing out by only 3 votes, and he was local councillor. He was a Justice of the Peace and a special constable in Port Wakefield where he was instrumental in forming the Rural Bank of Balaklava. Having farmed the area for many years he moved to Victoria, farming and mining there, before settling in Culcairn NSW
