Grace Emma Bodie

(21 Oct 1918 - 10 Oct 2002)

Grace and my mother Barbara (Broschard) Veley were close friends as well as being first (and third) cousins. They spent many years looking after their aunt and uncle Emma (Broschard) and Henry Geitz's welfare, ultimately having to take care of their estate (what little of it that remained) after they died. Grace and mom enjoyed going to lunch together, especially to have Chinese food. Grace and her second husband Gordon Bierschenk toured the world. After Gordon died in 2000, Grace moved to Lenoir, NC in 2001 to be near her daughter Jeannette. The last time mom saw her alive was just before this move. After a period of about a year Grace died of cancer.
