Military

William participated in the Normandy invasion of France in 1944 and in the Pacific Theater during the final stages of World War II. He served on the USS LST 283 and the SS Robert F. Stockton, reaching the rank of Gunner’s Mate Third Class before being discharged from the service in 1946
