Ethel Dora Nutting

Ethel's birth certificate originally gave her name as Dora Alice Nutting. Ethel was named after her mother Alice May Otis (and perhaps after her aunt Dora Nutting). Her birth certificate was amended on 4 May 1957 by registrar H. Miller to change her name to Ethel Dora Nuttting. Ethel was added, and Alice was struck out. I remember my grandmother Ethel fondly. When I was young, our family made regular long trips to my grandparents in Mattydale, NY, and they did likewise to visit us in New Jersey. I recall that her last trip was made to visit mother and my siblings about one year before she died in 1966.
