Military
Joe was drafted in 1944. Seaman 2nd Class Joseph C. Parell was received onboard the USS Los Angeles on 22 July 1945 at the Naval Training Station in Providence, RI (or at the Naval Base in Philadelphia, PA where the commissioning ceremony took place on the same date). On 8 February 1946, Joseph was received onboard the USS Arthur Middleton. On 1 April 1946 Joseph's rating changed to Fireman 2nd Class. On 1 July 1946, Joseph was transferred at the Naval Base in Norfolk, for discharge.Marriage
