Peter Dennis Emig Sr.

Peter lived out his entire life on the Emig family farm, originally purchased by his immigrant grandfather John Leonard Emig. The various records illustrate how one location can be identified many different ways throughout time: Ringdale, Ringdale Road, Satterfield Road, Dushore R.F.D., or simply as being in Laporte Township. Dushore Borough is entirely surrounded by Cherry Township. Similarly, Laporte Borough is entirely surrounded by Laporte Township. Census records are accurate when identifying municipalities. The Postal Service wasn't governed by such concerns. In this case, the Dushore post office delivered mail to the northern part of Laporte Township where the family farm was. Period maps must to be consulted when trying to determine where actual family farms were.

Peter was 71 years old when he married Ruth, who was 18 years old. Ruth's mother's family used to hunt on the Emig farm.
