This was a very small shop located on the west side of South Fifth Street that has long since been demolished, and now lies within Independence Mall at Independence National Historic Park. It last appears on the 1875 Philadelphia Atlas (more correctly known at "City Atlas of Philadelphia, Vol. 6, Wards 2 through 20, 29 and 31", published in 1875 by G.M. Hopkins) appearing at: www.philageohistory.org.Independence Hall, the birthplace of the United States of America in 1776, was/is less than 200 feet away where it occupies the South side of Chestnut Street between South Fifth and Sixth Streets.
