RINITY-Reverend Thomas “Tommy” Hunt, 77, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 27, 2018.
He was born on June 2, 1940 in Guilford County, to the late Thomas Ray and Beulah Briles Hunt. A resident of this area all of his life, he worked for Thomas Built Buses and retired after 40 plus years of service. He was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church, serving the church in many capacities. Tommy enjoyed gardening and mowing. His true love and passion was children; especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be dearly missed.
Those left to cherish his memory; are his wife of 57 plus years, Genevieve Mashburn Hunt; his daughter, Loretta Honeycutt and her husband Kent; his grandchildren, Jacob Sheffield and his wife Heather, Dawn Cockrum and her husband Brent; his great grandchildren, Lucy Sheffield, Lauren Cockrum and Lily Cockrum.
A service to celebrate Tommy’s life will be held on Friday, March 30, at 3 pm, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, with Reverend James Sweeney and Reverend Warren Sweeney officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church Cemetery. His family will receive friends on Friday from 1:45 until 2:45 pm at the funeral home.
