Phyllis Horne Collins, age 55 of Hwy 62 in Thomasville, died on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Health Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC.Born on August 9, 1958 in Lumberton, NC, a daughter of Mr. Benjamin Thomas and Mrs. Mable Rogers Horne. Mrs. Collins was self-employed with Mobile Home Repairs and was of the Baptist faith but will be most remembered for her compassion and her love for her dogs.
Phyllis was a lover of laughter, family, friendships and never knowing a stranger. She left a mark on all that were lucky enough to cross her path.
An avid dog lover and rescuer; her prized possession was "Zoe", a dog that has no idea she is anything but human.
Mrs. Collins was predeceased by her parents, her husband Charlie 'C.C.' Collins and two brothers, Frank Rogers and Bobby Horne.
Surviving are two sisters; Darlene Hatton of Trinity, NC and Gloria Briles of Asheboro, NC and two brothers; Harold Rogers Sr. of Clayton, NC and Dr. Tony Horne of Thomasville, NC.
Phyllis will be lovingly missed.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Mack Hutson and Rev. Dr. Tony Horne officiating. Interment will follow in the Grainger Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Hardwick Funeral Home and again from 2:00 until 2:45 PM prior to services at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
