Ruby Linthicum

Mrs. Ruby Linthicum Robbins, 85, of the GrayBrier Nursing and Retirement Center and former resident of 212 W. State St., High Point and 2456 Old Mountain Road, Trinity, died Sunday April 12, 1998, in the Nursing Center, following several years of declining health.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 1998, at the Hayworth Memorial Wesleyan Church by the Rev. David M. Emery, Dr. Hal Robbins, Jr. and the Rev. Elton Strickland. Interment will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Robbins was born Dec. 15, 1912, in Guilford County, a daughter of Beamer Rexford and Wilma Crisco Linthicum. She had lived most of her life in High Point and was a retired employee of Triangle Hosiery Mill. She was a member of Hayworth memorial Wesleyan Church and the Lydia Tucker Sunday School Class. On March 30, 1929, she was married to Hal Gardner Robbins, Sr., who died June 7, 1981. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Groome Robbins.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Linda) Bevan of 2456 Old Mountain Road, Trinity; four sons, Dr. Hal Gardner Robbins, Jr. and his wife, Lillian of Portsmouth, Va., Bobby Lawrence Robbins, Sr. and his wife, Barbara of 613 Cable St., Thomasville, Jerry Wayne Robbins, Sr. and his wife, Phyllis of 3212 Woodview Dr., High Point and Billy Ray Robbins and his wife, Elizabeth of Santa Ana, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Sherman (Aldean) Hicks of High Point; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at the Cumby Mortuary in Archdale. At other times, they will be at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence Bevan, 2456 Old Mountain Rd., Trinity.
