Mary Lou Kindley McDowell, 74, of Bob Loflin Road in Denton, died Friday, March 19, 2004, at her home.
The funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Canaan United Methodist Church, where she was a member, by the Revs. James Cooper, Clayton Stoneman, Clarence Stoneman and Jesse Howard and Mr. Robert Hedrick Jr. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. McDowell was born Aug. 14, 1929, in Randolph County to Charlie Lee and Esther Lillie Tucker Kindley. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Junior McDowell, who died July 13, 2000.
Surviving are her sons, Jesse Lee McDowell Sr. and his wife, Barbara, of Denton, Darrell McDowell and his wife, Renee, of Denton, and David McDowell and his wife, Brenda, of Thomasville; daughters, Nancy McDowell and her friend, Danny Hardister, Ann Ingle and her husband, Andy, Mae Echerd and husband, her Robert, all of Denton; Lillie Campbell and her husband, Ether, and Jeanette Hedrick and her husband, Ronald, of Lexington; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
