 — An elderly man is dead and his wife is in the hospital with a gunshot wound, according to a press release from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.
On Monday, deputies, along with EMS personnel and members of the Guil-Rand Fire Department, were dispatched to 4020 Shannon Drive in Trinity.
They found Harold Levette Hoover, 86, had been shot and killed. His wife, Rochelle Scarlett Hoover, 77, had been shot and required immediate medical attention. Mrs. Hoover was transported to a regional hospital for what appeared to be self-inflicted injuries.

Born April 29, 1928 to the late Dewey Hoover and Maude Lillian Lambeth Hoover in Davidson County. He also served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Ira Edgar Hoover. Surviving is his wife of 64 years Rochelle Scarlett Hoover of the home; two daughters, Pamela Connell and husband James of Iron Station, Michelle Carlisle and husband James Jr. of Thomasville; one brother Billy V. Hoover of High Point; three grandchildren, Mark Edward Allen of Cary, Trent William Carlisle and wife Ashley of Trinity, Nathan Ryan Carlisle of Thomasville.
