Mrs. Lucille Cain, 92, went home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2003.Although she left many here on Earth to grieve her leaving, there were severalalready in Heaven waiting to celebrate her homecoming. She was born Jan. 23,1911, in Blakely, Ga. Panama City was her home from the early 1930s until afew years ago, when she moved to Wewahitchka to live with her daughter andthen to Bullock, Ala., to spend time with her other daughter where she residedat the time of her death. Mrs. Cain was a homemaker, raised four daughters andwas married to Bryant Perry Cain until his death in 1993. She also waspreceded in death by two daughters, Frances Jennings and Jeanette Whitton; andthree grandchildren. Surviving with her two remaining daughters, MadelineStricklin of Bullock, Ala., and Bettie McDonald of Wewahitchka, Fla., are 10grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, and manygood friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Cain will be held Thursday, May 1,2003, at 2 p.m. at the Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.Travis Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Thefamily will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Askedto serve as pallbearers are her great grandsons, Craig and Adam Mercer ofPanama City, Fla., David McDonald of Wewahitchka, Fla., Bradley Deese ofTallahassee, Fla., Dow Strickland of Bullock, Ala., and Lee Dean of Pensacola,Fla.
