Individual Details
Brenda Corder
(22 May 1940 - 16 May 2016)
Her loving ways and giving spirit will live on through her children and grandchildren. Kindness and acceptance of others are the virtues her family and friends will remember however the truly fortunate are recipients of her graciousness and good will. Brenda C. Waters loved the world and the people around her and had a desire to help everyone she could. Her easy way of making friends and conversation drew people to her and the world is a better place for her being here. She died after fighting her own battle on Monday, May 16, 2016.
Her family invites you to celebrate her life on Friday, May 20 at 12 PM at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield chapel with Reverend Steve Goode and her son, Dr. Mike Briles officiating followed by interment in Guilford Memorial Park. Sharing memories will begin at 10:30 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
She was born in High Point the only child of the late Wesley and Virginia Carter Corder. After graduation from high school and two years of business-college, Brenda spent most of her working life as a successful manufacturing sales representative in the paper industry. When not working away from home she was the busy and loving mother to her three children and later as a second Mom to her children from her marriage to James Waters. Since 1982 they have lovingly combined their families and created wonderful memories.
Brenda loved to cook and most people knew it may not be healthy but it sure was good and worth it! Her specialties include meatloaf and mashed potatoes, spaghetti and New Year's Day dinner. As long as her family was together and enjoying the food and company any day was special to Brenda. Especially if she was around her grandchildren. The beach was her special place (particularly the Outer Banks). She enjoyed all types of music, bird watching and adored her canine companion, Bailey.
She is survived by husband, James Waters; children and their spouses, Mike and Mary Anne Briles of Charlotte, Frank and Jie Briles of Chapel Hill and Heather Briles of Ramseur; James' children and their spouses, Joseph and Tonya Waters of Greensboro, James Waters of Oak Island, Karen Kral of Simpsonville, SC, and Julie and Brian Bonavitacola of Myrtle Beach, SC; and grandchildren, Shannon, Yi, Rebekah, Ezra, Colby, Wesley, Christion, Caleb, Cadence, Marsh, Callie, Matthew, and William.
