Harlina "Hollan" Briles was born to John Briles (abt 1775-1857) and his 1st wife, Nancy Ann Beckerdite (abt 1770-abt 1840) in Randolph County, North Carolina. In about 1833 she married Julius Cicero Gregson. They made their home in Randolph County and it was there that Hollan gave birth to their ten children.
