Solomon TYSINGER

(1844 - 1905)

Solomon was born in Davidson County and resided in Forsyth County where he was by occupation a planter prior to enlisting in Company K (Confederate Guards), 48th North Carolina Infantry in Forsyth County at the age of 18 on March 18, 1862. Hospitalized on August 24, 1862 with typhoid fever. Returned to duty on February 8, 1863. Reported present on surviving muster rolls for the period from February 1863 through October 1864. Captured at Hatcher's Run, Virginia on April 2, 1865. Confined at Point Lookout yankee prison Maryland on April 7, 1865. Released at Point Lookout on June 19, 1865.
