Colleen Sylvia Briles July 30, 1946 - Dec. 26, 2010 "Mommy" Beloved mother, daughter, sister and friend. Colleen passed quietly in Oakland, CA where she lived since the 1950's. Born in Alturas, CA to Lily and Ray Briles. Colleen graduated, with Honors, in 1964, from Skyline High. A major contributor to the year book, and school paper with articles and art work. She was also a member and leader of numerous school clubs. Despite an auto accident at age 19, leaving Colleen with permanent neurological damage, she graduated with honors and a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Cal State University. She volunteered at Oaknoll Naval Hospital and the creative living center where she taught art. In her life she had many interests, an accomplished painter, sculptor/ceramist and poet. Colleen was a loving and dedicated mother to Rachel and Robert Briels-Booker. Beloved daughter of Lily Briles and sister of Sharon Briles. She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Briles. Her great sense of humor, charming and witty personality will be greatly missed.
