Death
THOMASVILLE--Aaron Brown Clinard, 85, of Overlook Dr., died August 8, 2006, at Piedmont Crossing Retirement Community.He was born on November 20, 1920, a son of David William and Pearl Jane Kennedy Clinard. He was a 1937 graduate of Pilot High School and attended High Point College (now university).
During World War II, he honorably served our county in the Army Air Force. He retired from Belk Stores after a cumulative 25 year career in Siler City and Thomasville. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Thomasville, having been a former member of the Board of Deacons and the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
Mr. Clinard was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Hubert Hoyle Clinard, Charles Webster Clinard, Velva C. Freedle, Mozelle C. Woodlief, Reva C. Snyder and Hannah C. Burgess. He is survived by Mable Hepler Clinard, his wife of 60 years; three sons, Aaron Neal Clinard (Lyl MacLean) of High Point, Rodney Hepler Clinard (Annette West) of Greensboro and Don Brooks Clinard (Julie Eanes) of Thomasville; he was a wonderful grandfather to Kristian Scott Clinard (deceased), Lyl MacLean Clinard of Charlotte, Lt. Aaron Neal Clinard, Jr. of Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland and Ella Brooks Clinard of Thomasville; also surviving are his sisters, Margaret C. Murphy of Richmond, VA, Meredith C. Myers and Dorcus C. Laws, both of Thomasville and nine nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Thomasville by Rev. Bynam Orr. A gravesite service will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park.
