Death
Randleman – Bernice Millikan Davis, age 92, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2019 at Moses Cone Hospital in GreensboroFuneral services will be held 6:30 pm Monday, March 11, 2019 at Cedar Square Friends Meeting, with Ben Hurley and Michael Fulp, Jr. officiating. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Davis was born October 11, 1926 in Randolph County to the late Troy Watson Millikan and the late Blanche Pearce Millikan. She was a 1943 graduate of Randleman High School. In 1944 she graduated from Jones Business College and married D.S. Davis. Mrs. Davis was an avid seamstress, bread baker, basket maker and quilter. She nurtured numerous children throughout her lifetime and loved to share her time and talents with other friends. As a longtime member of Cedar Square Friends Meeting, she served as a Sunday School teacher, Elder, and served on various committees. Mrs. Davis was an active member of the United Society of Friends Women and a member and officer of the New Market Home Demonstration Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers; and five sisters.
She is survived by her five children; Kay Coltrane (Branson) of Pleasant Garden, Janie Gray (Phil), Rita Mintmier (Tom), Jerry Davis (Kaye) and Terry Davis (Julia) all of Randleman; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and one sister, Ina Lee White of Archdale.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
