Stella Lucille Mae Kindley Edwards, 88, of Asheboro, died Thursday, November 1, 2018 at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 5, 2018, at Hilltop Baptist Church, with Rev. Joe Brown and Rev. Cliff Van Vliet officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Born in Randolph County, NC on May 19, 1930, Mrs. Edwards was the daughter of the late John Wesley Kindley and Hazel Lee Spoon Kindley. She worked at Watts Mill in South Carolina and retired from Jockey International. She was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church. Mrs. Edwards enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, cooking, baking, fishing and traveling.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Wesley Edwards; sons, Roy Wesley, Jr. and Donald Wesley Edwards; great grandchildren, Brianna Edwards, Isaac Welsh and Wesley Turner; sisters, Marie Hunt, Lois Dickens, Elizabeth Carter and Edith McElreath; brothers, Frank Kindley, Bennie Lee Kindley, Lewis Kindley and William Arthur Kindley.
Surviving are her daughters, Betty Mann Grubb, of Laurens, SC, and Dorothy Richardson and husband, Daniel, of the home, daughter-in-law, Phyllis Edwards, of Asheboro; 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, November 4, 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home and from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday, prior to the service, at the church. Other times the family will be at the home.
