Hannah Elizabeth "Lizzie" Hockett was the daughter of Jesse Davis Hockett (1826-1898) and his wife, Rebecca Cox (1822-1878). She became Henry Clay Gregson's third wife on 30 Sep 1886 in Randolph County, North Carolina. Henry and Lizzie Hockett Gregson had seven children -
1. Jesse Shuble Gregson (b. 7 Aug 1887/d. 13 Jan 1888 in Randolph County, NC)
2. Barney James Gregson "B. J." (b. 7 Feb 1889/d. 18 Jul 1977 in Asheboro, Randolph, NC) - married to Mamie Anna Ward
3. Charles Roscoe Gregson "Roscoe" (b. 5 Jul 1890/d. 14 Oct 1971 in Redding, Shasta, California) - Roscoe never married
4. Albert Franklin Gregson "Albert" (b. 12 Sep 1891/d. 26 Dec 1961 in Liberty, Randolph, NC) - married to Bessie Jane Bailiff

6. Hubert Clayton Gregson "Hubert" (b. 14 Jan 1895/d. 3 Apr 1983 in the hospital - Greensboro, Guilford, NC) - married first to Hazel Ruth Barker and 2nd to Elsie Elma Barker
Alfred Briles Gregson "Briles" (b. 5 Sep 1896/d. 30 Jan 1980 in Asheboro, Randolph, NC) - married to Nora Cletis Barker
Lizzie was a devoted wife and much loved by her sons - one of which broke her heart. Her son Roscoe joined the US Army and served in WWI. He survived the War but settled out west (California and Oregon) after it was over. Although he wrote to his mother and often promised to return home to North Carolina; he never did.
She lost one of her eyes to disease in about 1916 and wore a false eye for the remainder of her life. According to her son, Hubert, her hair never turned gray. It was always a dark color even when she died at age 85 ~
