Edward, a tailor, was in Ipswich, Massachusetts, in 1637/8 with wife, Ann. They removed to Salisbury, Massachusetts, by 1640 where as a founder of the town he received first division land in 1640. He bought land in 1642. He signed the Articles of Agreement between the inhabitants of the Old Town and those of the New Town in May of 1654, was a selectman in 1646-8, a "commoner" and taxed in 1650 and 1652 (one pound & four pence), a commissioner for Salisbury in 1650. He signed two petitions regarding church matters in May of 1658, and helped the town of Salisbury purchase 100 acres from Mr. Hall in 1657 by giving them 3 pounds.

Source: Wiki Tree French-100Edward married Anne Worcester on 3 Nov 1626 at St. Andrew’s Church, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.[6]William Worcester's 1662 will called Edward French his brother. A 1663 letter from William's step-son James Hall of London called Edward French "Uncle French"[8] Anne Worcester was called Anne French in her father Joseph's will of 1644. Rugby and Allesley, Warwickshire are about 15 miles from each other.
