Deacon William Gaylord

(Abt 1590 - 20 Jul 1673)

Came to America on the "Mary and John" which sailed from Plymouth, England on 20 March 1630 with Captain Squeb. After a violent storm on the passage they arrived in Massachusetts Bay. The captain not knowing the way to the Charles River, left them on Nantasket Point. Per the book "The house of Gaillard or Gayloard" by William Gaillard dated 1872, found at Heritage Quest Online page 15, emigrated with his brother, John Gaylord, in the spring of 1630 on the ship Mary and Jane, arriving on May 30, 1630, at Nantucket, Boston Bay.
