Walter "Haite" Hoyt

See "Bouton, Boughton and Farnam Families" by Willis A. Boughton dated 1949 page 142 at Heritage Quest. He was the son of Simeon Hoyt and Deborah Stowers. Lived at Windsor, CT, was one of the first settlers at Norwalk in 1653, and was at Fairfield, CT in 1684.

Moved to Norwalk with the first settlers about 1653.

See "The Ancestral Lines of Mary Lenore Knapp" by Alfred Averill Knapp, MD dated 1947 from Heritage Quest, pages 75-76. Walter Hoyt was in Windsor, CT in 1640. Moved to Hartford, then to Fairfield, then to Norwalk about 1653 - an early settler there. He was a deputy from Norwalk for more than 12 years. Was Sergt. in the Norwalk Train Band in May, 1659. His will mentions two sons.

In "History and Genealogy of the familiew of Old Fairfield" by Donald Lines Jacobus, dated 1930 Vol I page 295, Walted Hoyt stated his age was as about 65 as a witness to a will (born 1619) and in his will dated 1696 he stated he was about 78 (born 1618).Marriage
