Moody was the son of John Reich and Catherine S. Whiteman. John Reich was born Jul 1729 in Rheindurkheim, Germany and died in Maidstone 30 Dec. 1813. He married Catherine Sophia Whiteman in 1753 in Boston, MA. She had been born 15 Sept 1738 in Meerfelden, Germany and died 14 April 1818 in Maidstone.
