News Pub (ind)	21 Jul 1922	Obituary: There passed from our midst on Monday morning last, at 4 o'clock, one of the oldest and most respected citizens in the Illawarra district in the person of Mrs. William McAuley, Armagh, Thirroul, at the age of 78. Mrs. Mc Auley was born at Armagh, Ireland, in 1844, and came to Australia in a sail ing ship, the Hotspur, with her mother and sisters in the year 1863. The family settled at Woonona and three years later she entered the holy bonds of matrimony, and for the past 59 years she has lived in this district with an unbroken family tie. In her home she was the chief presiding spirit and, nobly did she do her part in equipping her family of eleven, six sons and five daughters, for the battle of life. The funeral was largely attended, and all sections of the community were represented. A short service was conducted at the Presbyterian Church by Rev. J. S. Rapkins, and afterwards at the graveside. Among the many who paid their last respects by following the cortege to the Bulli cemetery were Messrs J. S. Kirton (Excelsior Colliery), Cr. Coffey (Austinmer). C. L. Willard (pub lic school), Cr. Tresidder (President of Bulli Shire), W. J. R. Richardson (the shire clerk), Mr. Wilson (Shire Engineer), Mrs. J. Ryan, and many other representative citizens
