They were accompanied by all 7 of their children. "The Tamar arrived on Saturday morning, with 230 immigrants, after a fair passage of 100 days. Only one death, an infant occurred during the voyage. Too much praise cannot be awarded to the Surgeon-Superintendent & captain for the cleanly condition in which this vessel has arrived in port. She rounded Van Diemans Land on the 12th instant, since which time she has had nothing but adverse winds." Sydney Morning Herald January 31st, 1853.
