Griffith H. ROWLAND

History of Morrow County and Ohio (Chicago, O. L. Baskin, 1880) on page 614 has a biographical article on John E. Rowland. It states "his father (Griffith H. Rowland) was born in Wales in 1797 and emigrated to Cambria Co., Pa. in 1809 and at the age of 21 began learning the saddler's trade...in 1837 Mr. Rowland came to Ohio by team, and settled in Chesterville, and there engaged in harness-making...He died in 1873 and had eight children; three survive--L. H....;D. H....; J. E..." This article has many errors in dates but other information appears to be correct.
