Individual Details
Rev. William WILLIAMS
(Abt 1777 - Jul 1848)
William Williams names two daughters in his will: Margaret Durbin and Mary Jones. He had one daughter born 1811 to 1815 and one daughter born 1821 to 1825 according to the 1830 census. Margaret Durbin is the first daughter named in his will and Mary Jones is the second daughter named in his will but it is not known if he named his children in the order of their births. Mary Jones' husband was Thomas John Jones according to a biographical article for William Williams' son, William Williams. There is no Margaret Durbin and there is no Thomas Jones with a wife named Mary in the Cambria County census records in 1850 and and later. There was a Margaret Durbin living next to William Williams in the 1840 census but it is not known if this household was related to him since the oldest female in the household (50 thru 59) was too old to be his daughter. It is assumed that there was some connection since his daughter was also named Durbin.
Deed records in Cambria County need checked since he left his daughter Mary Jones 30 acres in Jackson Township in his will. Deeds may give more information to help to determine her identity.
