There is an Alexander Fleming, 20 to 29 years of age, in the 1830 census for Plumcreek Township, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. This is not Alexander Fleming's son, Alexander Fleming. This is Alexander Fleming's nephew, the son of his brother John Fleming. His nephew, Alexander Fleming, appears in the 1850 census in Plumcreek Township as Alex M. Fleming. John Fleming's son was Alexander M. Fleming since John sold property to his son, Alexander M. Fleming.Endnotes
